Wisconsin Point Restored Thanks to $1.5M Grant

26-Sep-2019

With more than $1.5 million in funds from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, the restoration of Wisconsin Point and other parts of the area along Lake Superior have been completed, according to WPR. The restoration was designed to make the land more accessible, as well as to protect the sensitive dunes from foot traffic by installing boardwalks over the dunes, according to the City of Superior.

The project restored 150 acres, including 85 acres of forest and 85,000 square feet of shoreline.
