Sea Ray Wins Marketing Award


Sea Ray brought home the gold from overseas last month, when it was awarded the Boat Builder Award for Best Retail Marketing Initiative at the annual Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement Ceremony. More than 280 guests attended the gala at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.

The award-winning marketing initiative refers to Sea Ray’s SLX series launch, a multi-part campaign that utilized Virtual Reality (VR) technology. To create an immersive experience, Sea Ray developed three videos of the SLX 280: From the point of view of driving the boat, relaxing in the cockpit and being towed on a wakeboard. Sea Ray then produced cardboard VR viewers, which can be used when paired with a smartphone, that it made available through request online. Authorized Sea Ray dealerships also received two high-tech VR viewers.
